Mike Saylor is a VMC Board Member and occasional Blog contributor. He is the author of the now infamous “Manifesto,” a six-page letter describing the need for a ministry center in Convoy and challenging God’s people to make it a reality. When he’s not writing life-changing documents, Mike serves as the pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Convoy. He also works part-time for the Ohio District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod as a Mission and Ministry Facilitator. Mike is married to his high-school sweetheart, Laura, and together they have seven children. They also recently acquired one son-in-law. Mike is an avid reader, his preferred device being a 3rd generation Kindle Keyboard. He also loves to run, having completed numerous half and full marathons. In his spare time Mike travels to the rural areas of Liberia, West Africa where he conducts theological workshops for Lutheran pastors and church leaders.
Kim Clayton is the VMC Planning & Programming Coordinator, and a VMC Blog contributor. She is a graduate of Crestview and International Business College. Kim works part-time at the Pregnancy Life Center of Van Wert, and the other part of her time she is wife to Darrel and mom to their two sons, Collin and Branden. She is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Convoy, where she leads Women @ The Well, a bi-weekly book-and-coffee-appreciation club. Kim enjoys hiking and trying new recipes, and has a fondness for Mr. Darcy from Pride & Prejudice, and 80’s lite rock music. Don’t judge. Her favorite scripture is Psalm 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Kim's vision for the VMC is to see women of different ages and backgrounds meeting together for spiritual and emotional connection, and simply for the fun of being together.
